Open Farm details & Competition
Combines 4 Charity is delighted to announce that we have entered into a share farming agreement on a 100 acre tillage farm in Co. Meath. The idea is to farm the land on a voluntary basis with proceeds from farm sales going directly to our chosen charities. It is expected that inputs will be donated or sponsored with the work being carried out by members of the committee and those who wish to lend a hand. This farm will double up as an open farm for children to visit throughout the year where they will have the opportunity to see the crops being planted nurtured and harvested. The open farm is located in Rathfeigh, Skyrne, Co. Meath. If travelling North on the N2 take a left at Kilmoon Cross. Pass by the Snailbox pub and take a left at the T junction. You will find the farm on the left about a mile after the T junction. See more photos of the farm being ploughed and sowed on our Facebook page
As a thank you to our supporters we sponsored a competition on the tonnage that the different crops would yield. The crops grown were 9.11 Ha LEIBNIZ winter barley, 21.14 Ha MASCANI winter oats and 8.50 Ha CORDIAL winter wheat. The prizes were a weekend away for the nearest tonnage for each crop and €1000 for the nearest overall tonnage off the farm.
If people need any more info or directions to the farm they can phone 0868066330 / 0868229620.
